THE BLOSSOM Stuns with New Pop Song, "HARDCORE HAPPY"

Quick Thoughts: THE BLOSSOM, the performing name for LA-based Lily Lizotte, has shown a penchant for genre-bending, ear-catching, toe-tapping pop music. Adding to an impressive collection last week, they released “HARDCORE HAPPY,” the first single off of their debut EP, “97 BLOSSOM.” In their latest track, Lizotte openly describes the anxiety that they face, singing, “Yeah, you know my world is burnin’ / I’ve been sick of all my hurtin’ / Yeah, I’m tired of my gender / I spent five days on a bender.” Pairing their open, unapologetic lyrics with the track’s stunning, genre-swapping production, THE BLOSSOM manages to capture the feeling of chaos that so often comes with anxiety. “HARDCORE HAPPY” is a pop song worth listening to again and again and again.
