Quick Thoughts: Sydney based composer and vocalist Tim Ayre dropped his latest EP Modern Life just in time for it to become the soundtrack of your summer. If you haven’t listened to any of Tim Ayre’s music yet, I’m about to really put you on. Pulling inspiration from great musical influences like The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Daft Punk, etc., Tim Ayre encapsulates vintage nostalgia and modern themes to make retrowave indie-rock music that is unlike anything you’ve heard before.
My personal favorite on the EP is “Modern Life”. I’ve listened to this song about 10 times over in complete awe at the insanely unique and wide ranging soundscapes that draw up such a vivid picture of a day at the beach in the 70’s. Just when I thought the song couldn’t get any better, my jaw dropped 2 minutes in at the electrifying guitar solo. It literally left me speechless. I can’t say enough amazing things about this man. Tim Ayre is the definition of pure fucking talent. Stream on Spotify:
